You are now in one of Malcesine’s historic premises, whose opening dates back to the beginning of the last century. At La Rosa you could ‘park’ your donkey outside in the courtyard (now a pergola garden) and come in to do business, look for or offer labour for work in the fields, sell or buy livestock, or simply to play cards and drink a ‘gotto’ in good company; the artisans and peasants then used to bring their own ‘gamella’ with the daily ‘rancio’ (ration), which La Rosa kept warm on the stove, and served with a glass of wine (often more than one!!) … [more]
